14.2. Departure
- The host country also provides appropriate facilities for the departure of official participants. Customs and immigration procedures include VIP treatment as appropriate. Similar arrangements are made at departure as on arrival for VIPs, as well as shuttle bus transport for all official participants from their hotels. To facilitate airport transfers for departure, it is recommended that the host country issue an airport departure transport schedule with a form for official participants to complete and submit to the transport unit or the concierge desk of the hotels for consolidation.
- The airport reception service should maintain an information departure counter on the departures level as required.
- Sample diagram procedures for arrival and departure are in Appendix 90. The host country may wish to pattern its airport arrangements action plan on these two diagrams.
- Sufficient number of VIP lounges should be provided, and should be exclusively dedicated to VIPs. Fees should not be charged for the use of these VIP lounges by Annual Meeting Heads of Delegations and other VIPs (such as very senior Observers).
