Chapter 6

Hotels

6.2. Hotels

  • For Category A, the hotels are chosen by ADB, and ADB negotiates the rates. The table below shows the indicative rates at previous Annual Meetings. For Category A, hotel rates have historically been less than 200 USD. Efforts should be made to negotiate the most cost-efficient rate for ADB, without sacrificing comfort or basic amenities.
  • For Category B, five or six hotels are selected, and they should be close to the meeting venue. These hotels should offer affordable rates – a combination of low to mid-range priced hotels as well as deluxe hotels – to meet the requirements of all ADB members. The hotels in Categories A and B are usually referred to as the “official hotels”.
  • For Category C, a range of hotels can be offered to meet the diverse requirements of these participants. The hotels should also have function rooms that can be rented by participants as needed. The hotels recommended by the host country for Category C participants are usually referred to as “accredited hotels”.
