Media and Outreach Activities

20.3. Media Center

Given recent trends of an increasing number of media attendance in the Annual Meeting, the space, facilities, and equipment at the Media Center should be conducive for media to carry out their work effectively and within or close to the main meeting venue. The facilities and equipment, particularly strong internet connectivity and cabling, should meet ADB requirements and standards of international media. A much more detailed outline of the media center requirements can be found in  Chapter 7. Space Requirements

  1. In host countries where English is not the usual language of local media, several translators will be required to be provided by the host country. These translators will need to be at the Media Center during the 4-day event. DOC requires to review the CVs of the translators to ensure appropriate skills.
    • Two translators will be required for translating English news releases, articles, and transcripts to the local language; and translating material in the local language to English. They will also be requested to monitor local news.

One simultaneous/consecutive translator will be required for media briefings at the Media Center.
