8.3. Airport or Port of Entry Formalities

1. The host country and PCO is expected to extend protocol formalities for arrival and departure of the following VIPs who are attending the Annual Meeting. Refer to Chapter 14.1. Arrival
   • ADB Governors
   • Heads of Delegations
   • ADB President
   • Secretary
   • former ADB Presidents
   • heads of state and/or government and others of ministerial rank or higher
   • members of a royal family
   • eminent seminar speakers
   • former heads of state and/or government
   • governors of central banks
   • heads of multilateral organizations
   • selected observers
2. Protocol assistance to VIPs may include, but is not limited to:
   • use of the VIP lounge at the airport or other ports of entry. Where the airport lounge may prove insufficient due to other events taking place or its general size and capacity, alternative arrangements for VIP hospitality may be made.
   • speedy assistance with customs, immigration, and quarantine procedures
   • exemption from security checks
   • where applicable, meet-and-greet honors by the highest-ranking official designated by the host country
   • provision of chauffeur-driven cars throughout the duration of the Annual Meeting
   • assignment of English-speaking liaison officers on arrival, as necessary
